Settlement advice from migrants who have done it
PITCHED AT THE SYDNEY NIGHT ON 21 AUGUST 2026
A new migrant to Australia has two options and both are bad: pay an agent thousands for advice that stops at the visa, or ask a Facebook group and get answers that are confidently wrong. Immibook is a marketplace for the part nobody covers, connecting people who have just arrived with mentors who made the same move.
The visa is the part everybody sells help with. Everything after it, finding work that recognises your qualifications, opening the right accounts, understanding what a rental application actually requires, is where new arrivals are on their own. The advice that exists is either priced like legal work or sourced from strangers in a group chat, and neither is built for the questions that come up in the first six months.
Immibook puts the two sides in one place. Mentors who have made the same move publish settlement guides and take one-to-one calls, and the platform takes a share of each booking rather than charging for access. The audience arrived first and without paid marketing, which is the part that is hard to manufacture: people found it because the gap it fills is one they were already searching for.
These founders pitched at the same startup events. The room is usually the reason people find each other.
