An AI manager for the back of a restaurant
PITCHING AT THE DUBAI NIGHT ON 27 OCTOBER 2026
A restaurant runs on a hundred small jobs that owners do after close: filling shifts, running payroll, reading supplier invoices, answering reviews. Clockout's AI manager, Ro, does them from one place connected to the POS, and the owner approves anything that spends money or reaches a customer.
Independent owners are in the hospitality business and spend their evenings in the back office instead: nine tools, none connected, and the chains already running an AI loop for labour, prep and ordering that an independent cannot afford. Every point-of-sale vendor has since shipped an agent, and each one is locked to its own POS or to a single job.
Clockout runs one agent across the whole back office on whatever POS the restaurant already has. Ask Ro to cover Friday's close and it checks availability and overtime, texts the crew, prices the labour and brings back the change for a tap of approval. It reads every supplier invoice and flags the menu prices that need to move, drafts a reply to every Google and Yelp review in the owner's voice, and turns approved timecards into a payroll run. The crew gets a phone app for shifts, swaps and pay stubs, and the owner gets to go home.
These founders pitched at the same startup events. The room is usually the reason people find each other.
