Cleaning buildings by how they are actually used
PITCHING AT THE SAN FRANCISCO NIGHT ON 7 OCTOBER 2026
Commercial cleaning is mostly labour, and most of it still runs on fixed routes drawn up without knowing which rooms were used. Zan Compute's ZanI platform reads occupancy, foot traffic and restroom sensors, then schedules, dispatches and audits the work, so crews go where the demand is.
Facility cleaning is one of the largest costs of running a building, and it is planned almost entirely by habit. Crews walk the same routes on the same schedule whether a floor was full or empty, so some restrooms are cleaned for nobody while others run out of supplies at the busiest hour. Supervisors know it, but they have had nothing to schedule against except the clipboard.
Zan Compute started with sensors in washrooms and has grown into ZanI, an agentic platform that turns occupancy, foot traffic, consumables and inspection data into schedules, work orders and client reports. It sells through the building service contractors who employ the crews, so one relationship can open a whole portfolio of sites. The team pairs sensing and AI engineering with operators from the facilities industry, including a finance chief who held senior roles at ABM.
These founders pitched at the same startup events. The room is usually the reason people find each other.
