Rotating savings circles, run by a bank
PITCHED AT THE DUBAI NIGHT ON 18 AUGUST 2026
Rotating savings circles move enormous sums informally, on trust between members and with no institution in sight. Stashr is the infrastructure a bank needs to offer them properly, so founders, small businesses and communities get the same mechanism with structure behind it.
The rotating savings circle is one of the oldest financial products in the world and is still, for hundreds of millions of people, the only one available. Everyone pays in, one member takes the pot each round, and the whole thing runs on knowing the other members. It works until someone disappears, and then there is no recourse at all.
Stashr's argument is that the mechanism deserves an institution rather than replacing one. Banks want the deposits and the relationship, and have no realistic path to building the system themselves. Selling the infrastructure instead of a consumer app is the harder route commercially, and the one that gets the product to the people who already use the informal version.
These founders pitched at the same startup events. The room is usually the reason people find each other.
