One light switch that runs the whole room
PITCHED AT THE LONDON NIGHT ON 15 SEPTEMBER 2026
A smart home usually means a keypad, a thermostat, a hub and an app for each system, fitted by a specialist at a specialist's price. Rithum replaces a standard light switch with one touchscreen that controls lighting, music, heating and door entry, sold and fitted through electrical installers.
Homes are filling up with smart devices that share no single control anyone else in the house can use. The lights are on one app, the music on another and the heating on a box in the hallway; the affordable products each do one job, and the systems that unify them cost a fortune and need a programmer. As homes add heat pumps, solar and car chargers, the control problem grows rather than shrinks.
Rithum puts the control where people already reach: the light switch. The Rithum Switch fits a UK or European single switch position without rewiring, works with systems such as Philips Hue and Sonos, runs room by room heating as Rithum Stat and answers SIP door intercoms. Selling through installers rather than online is deliberate, because the installer is the person a homeowner trusts to decide what goes in the wall.
These founders pitched at the same startup events. The room is usually the reason people find each other.
